Austrade Warsaw, Australian Trade Commission in Warsaw is the Australian Government’s agency assisting Australian and Polish companies to develop business relationships. Austrade Warsaw works for a long-term partnership between companies, facilitating trade and bilateral investments. Our industry experts can help you reduce the time, risk and cost involved in doing business with Australia.
Services offered to the Polish companies:
- Assistance in locating and identifying the right Australian supplier and investor, facilitation in selecting companies producing goods, services and providing technologies of your interest.
- Support in establishing and maintaining contacts with Australian companies by organizing trips to Australia, meetings and seminars as well as enabling the contact through the videoconferences.
- Providing with information on the business environment, Australia's capabilities and growth trends across a wide range of industries and sub-sectors.
- Advise about government industry development programs that may be applicable to your business, including support for research, development, innovation and export activities.
- Austrade has links to all major research and development institutions within Australia and will be able to introduce you to universities, commercialisation organisations, industry associations and centres of excellence to ensure you benefit from Australia’s innovation infrastructure.
Please note that services offered to the Polish enterprises are free of charge.
The Austrade office in Poland is also responsible for Croatia, Hungary, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia and can assist with any queries.
Austrade Warsaw is a part of the Australian Trade Commission – Austrade – the Australian Government’s trade and investment development agency whose role is to advance Australia’s international trade and investment interests by providing information, advice and services.
Established under the Australian Trade Commission Act 1985, Austrade is a prescribed agency subject to the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 and the Public Service Act 1999.
Austrade operates as a statutory agency within the portfolio of Foreign Affairs and Trade, with Austrade’s Chief Executive Officer reporting directly to the Minister for Trade.
Austrade’s services to Australian companies
- Advice on how to prepare for export – including country and industry information, help identifying international partners and access to Austrade seminars and events.
- Export capability assessment and export advice tailored to your individual business needs – including advice on export planning, logistics, budgets, payment and marketing strategies.
- Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) and information on export financing, including referrals to other government financial assistance programs.
- Selecting markets and market entry strategy – including help identifying the right international partners, tailored research on potential international markets and free trade agreements, understanding the needs of international buyers and advice on developing a market entry strategy for your product or service.
- Buyer/partner identification and selection – including introductions to potential customers visiting Australia and searching overseas markets for relevant buyers/partners.
- Assistance in overseas markets, including advice on local practices and culture, market challenges, help with translation and interpreting and logistical support.
- Proactive help in identifying new export opportunities, including introductions to potential buyers through Austrade’s online database and extensive overseas networks. Austrade provides a range of services free of charge and also specifically tailored services on a fee for service basis. In particular the hourly rate remains the same and Austrade staff do not have individual revenue targets.
Austrade new direction
On 17 May, Trade Minister Craig Emerson announced a series of reforms to the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade).

Export to Australia
Austrade helps companies willing to import Australian products and services. For companies interested in exporting Polish products to Australia, we recommend to contact Andrzej Jaroszyński, the Polish Ambassador in Canberra.
